What  [e]DesignFestival, in partnership with the City of Treviso, asked me to create a campaign promoting two interconnected events organised for the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women.

365(.) is a site-specific installation by Italian artist Barbara Uccelli. It consists of a calendar of 365 days built on a staircase, with a red dot marking each day on which a feminicide was committed in Italy over the past five years. Climbing the stairs while avoiding the days marked with a red dot is impossible.

A Table Set is a performance by Barbara Uccelli in which the artist invites the audience to reflect on a simple, everyday gesture: setting the table, a task mostly carried out by women. It is one of many ways love and care are expressed within the family environment.

How  365(.) — Due to the sensitivity of the topic and the artistic nature of the work, I chose to use concepts and symbolism to convey and amplify the communicative power of the installation. A red stiletto shoe, widely recognised as a symbol of violence against women, is seen from above, simulating the observer’s perspective as they attempt to climb the staircase. It subtly invites the viewer to “walk in a woman’s shoes”.
The focus is not on the shoe itself, but on the red dots — the true protagonists of the installation. They are a disturbing element, creating chaos against the white background and partially obscuring the text, functioning as deliberate interference.​​​​​​​

A Table Set — The central element is a dish marked with red lipstick. The kiss mark provides the only colour, while the white dish almost blends into the background.
That kiss encapsulates the performance: even when the dish is broken, the woman, embodied by the artist, repairs it and kisses it again. Her love prevails over struggle, even if it is often taken for granted.
